10th Cultural Policy Research Award Winner

Višnja Kisic, 27 years old from Serbia, studying at the Centre for Museology and Heritology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, is the winner of the 10th Cultural Policy Research Award 2013 (CPRA) during the the 21st ENCATC Annual Conference, “Rethinking Education on Arts & Cultural Management”. Selected amongst 36 applications from 17 countries on the wider European continent, the Award will help Višnja Kisic to carry out her research proposal during 2014 and publish her findings in 2015 on on “Governing dissonant heritage – promises and realities of existing cultural policy tools”.

The five other shortlisted candidates in the running for the 10,000 EUR Award came from Italy, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands with research proposals focused on topics as varied as cultural policy of access and common policies, European Capitals of Culture and community-based projects, supporting culture through childhood education, cultural diversity in film, and cultural urban development.

The Cultural Policy Research Award for the best innovative research proposal in applied, comparative, cross-cultural research in Europe was initiated in 2003 by the European Cultural Foundation and the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, and since 2008, is developed in partnership with and managed by ENCATC.

ART-idea has been involved in the editing of the 2010 and 2011 CPRA winners books and firmly supports the initiative of CPRA Award that promotes young researchers in the field of cultural management.
