More than 100 participants from 24 countries gathered in Barcelona on the occasion of the first International Conference on Creative Tourism in order to discuss the rapidly growing field of creative tourism in Europe. Prof. Greg Richards from Tilbourg University (now IGCAT’s President) gave a keynote speach that outlined the growing importance of this field in terms of tourism trends.
IGCAT was represented at this timely and important event that served to demonstrate the growing entrepreneurial spirit of artists who are increasingly cornering niche tourism markets, starting small businesses and putting their artistic skills to use.
