With his dish Mantença do lar do Minhoto (Keeping Minho’s home), Rui Pedro Meira was elected winner of the Minho Young Chef Awards (MYCA) and gained his place as finalist to the European Young Chef Award 2019.

The young ambassadors of Minho, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2016 will represent his region’s gastronomy internationally on 22-24 October, when the 4th edition of the European Young Chef Award will take place in South Aegean, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2019.

By using local ingredients from his region, Rui will present his innovative interpretation of a traditional dish to an international jury and will compete with finalists from the other European Regions of Gastronomy.
