Executive Chef – Horizon Beach Resort, Kos

Dimitrios Koullias has been working since he was 14 years old in taverns, fish taverns and restaurants. At the age of 17 he started his professional career in large hotel kitchens and at the age of 22, he started managing kitchens of the best hotels in Kos.

Dimitris Koullias has studied at the School of Tourism Professions of Rhodes, in the departments of Cooking and Pastry Art. He has attended HACCP seminars as well as multiple seminars on food technologies & tasting of new products. At the same time, he has traveled to Europe constantly looking for new trends, ideas, mentalities and techniques.

In 1999, at the age of 22, and for three years he worked as a Chef at Kos Palace Hotel, in 2002 and 2003 as executive chef at the multi-awarded for the time Platanista Hotel, and from 2004 until today he works as an executive chef at Horizon Beach Resort in Kos, one of the internationally awarded large hotels in Greece with 5 restaurants, including Mosaico with modern high gastronomy.

At the same time he teaches in the departments of Culinary Art at ANKO Kos.

Dimitrios Koullias was jury member of IGCAT’s World Food Gift Challenge Awards 2023.
