The Plastic Free Foundation has released its 2025 Impact Report, highlighting the global achievements of Plastic Free July. In 2025, an estimated 174 million people across 190 countries participated—about 16% of global consumers.

Participants significantly reduced waste, cutting an average of 13 kg of household waste per person and taking 15% more actions to avoid plastic compared to non-participants. Globally, this led to major reductions, including:

  • 1.4 million tonnes of non-recoverable landfill waste
  • 900,000 tonnes of recyclable waste
  • 290,000 tonnes of plastic consumption

The report features stories from around the world—students in the Philippines making pledges, women in Iran using reusable bags, plastic-free picnics in Australia, and water-refill trucks in New York—showing how small everyday choices collectively contribute to reducing plastic waste.

The Foundation thanks supporters and invites everyone to explore more stories and data in the full report.
