IGCAT European Capitals of Culture Seminar

IGCAT organised a  European Capitals of Culture introductory seminar on 11 December 2015 for candidate cities or cities considering putting their names forward the coverted title. With increased competition and spiraling costs to bid, cities were guided through the pros and cons of bidding to be European Capital of Culture.

Two leading experts,  Robert Palmer and Dr. Diane Dodd led an intensive day of discussion with bidding cities from across Europe.
Participants had the opportunity to explore challenges as well as collaboration possibilities, discuss lessons learned and challenges for future capitals of culture covering many different topics such as regional development, political involvement, European dimension, citizen support, audience development, visitor profiles, etc.

IGCAT regularly organises introductory seminars for cities that would like  more information about the European Capital of Culture programme or the European Region of Gastronomy Platform and Award.  For more information contact info@igcat.org
