Ramon Sentmartí is an expert in the agri-food sector with extensive experience in project & team management, strategic leadership, business transformation, and international trade. He has played a pivotal role in promoting Catalan regional products and gastronomy in national and international markets.
He previously served as Managing Director of PRODECA, a public company of the Government of Catalonia dedicated to supporting the internationalization and marketing of Catalan agrifood companies/products. During his tenure, he was instrumental in strengthening the global presence of Catalan gastronomy. His previous experience includes a position as Head of the Agrifood Commercialization Programme at the Department of Commerce of the Government of Catalonia, as well as multiple projects in different organisations in the agrifood sector.
A key stakeholder in Catalonia, European Region of Gastronomy 2016, Ramon facilitated the development of a gastronomy plan and earned recognition as an IGCAT Expert. Since championing Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy 2025, he has been honored as an IGCAT Ambassador.
Ramon holds a degree in Sociology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a Master’s from the London School of Economics, and a postgraduate qualification in Local and Regional Development from the Universitat de Barcelona.
